’Constructed Textiles – the easy way!’
This inspired textiles holiday is aimed at those people who have always wanted to try something creative and distinctive working with textiles.
The course is called Constructed Textiles – the easy way, as the techniques being taught do not involve lots of complex sewing processes.
There is a wealth of stunning, imaginative and inspiring techniques you can use when working with textiles. There are also many wonderful new products on the market you can use when working with textiles, which in themselves inspire new and innovative ideas.
On this Creative Textiles short course you will discover :
- how to produce exciting works of art in textiles without much sewing involved
- you will quickly and easily create stunning and sumptuous textile samples and learn many effective techniques so you can develop more creative ideas on your own
- you will produce rich and stunning background surfaces ready for additional work to be added
- how to make cords and tassels to embellish your works of art
- how to make your own beads and jewellery from textiles
- you will be given an introduction to free machine embroidery to enrich your work even further.
These are the same techniques you would be taught on our week long textiles holiday, but is more condensed.
Timetable
This Creative Textiles Short Course runs for 3 days/2 nights
The Timetable for 2008:
The course usually runs Monday to Wednesday – arrival mid morning at the hotel on the Monday, and finishes late afternoon on the Wednesday. This allows enough time for travel time back home or to your next destination while it is still daylight.
This course starts running after Easter until mid October. It has been found more suitable not to have set dates, but rather to let people get in touch and see if their chosen dates are suitable.
As with our other holidays, we do not operate during July and August as it is very hot.
Accommodation
Your accommodation for the Creative Textiles Short Course is the same as for our other holidays. We have the use of a big comfortable function room for all the workshop sessions, and if the weather is not too windy then we can always work outside for some of the sessions. Cost
The Creative Textiles Short Course is fully inclusive and includes:
- Accommodation – 2 nights in Award winning 3 star hotel
- All meals
- All materials used in workshops
- Your tuition
- Wine with your meals
The inclusive cost of the Creative Textiles Short Course is:
- 435 euros per person - Full holiday cost
- 375 euros per person – Full holiday cost when sharing a room
- 290 euros for non tuition partner - room sharing
- 50 euros - Deposit per person
We anticipate this holiday course being more suited to women living in Southern Spain, hence the prices are shown in Euros.

Your Tutor
Your tutor is Carolyn Levett who lives and works in Spain, and has been working with her partner at Creative Holidays Spain.
Having obtained a degree in Art & Design in the UK she then continued her studies a few years later with a City & Guilds in Creative Textiles. As well as teaching textile workshops in the UK she has exhibited her work in various galleries in the UK and in Spain.
In her own words …. ‘My ethos and approach to my textile artwork and my teaching is to make it fun, exciting, and simple and accessible to learn. I thoroughly enjoy working with colour and texture, and I am always thrilled and inspired by the huge variety of materials and techniques available to textile artists today.
