Frequently asked questions about our painting holidays
Painting holidays - frequently asked questions at Creative Holidays Spain
How soon do I need to book my holiday? As we oporate from a small family run hotel, which may get booked up, you will need to book your holiday as soon as possible. Firstly we will reserve your room while you secure your flights. Simply contact us by e-mail or phone to make a reservation, or you can fill in the Reservation Form you will find HERE .
What is the usual mix of people on your painting holidays? Typically, our groups are a mixture of couples, small groups of friends, art groups and single people, with ages ranging from early 40s to late 70s
Can my non-painting partner join your holidays? Yes, that is not a problem. There is a £85 deduction of the full price for people not attending the painting tuition when sharing a room. Your partner will still be able to join in at all the meals, excursions, and any social events. We can help to arrange other activities for your non-painting partner.
I will be travelling on my own but I am worried about doing this. There is no need to worry about travelling alone. You will be met as soon as you enter the Arrivals Hall at Malaga Airport. We have many single clients and we look after you from the moment you arrive.
I am a beginner at painting, is this a problem? Not at all. The tuition at Creative Holidays Spain is geared for both absolute beginners as well as those who want to improve and develop their painting skills.
What painting materials do I need to bring? At Creative Holidays Spain we provide each guest with a portable artists easel for oil painting, a board to rest on for watercolour painting, and a small folding stool. You will need to bring paints of your choice, brushes, *canvases or board for oils or acrylic painting, or water-colour paper (300g per sq meter is best).
*We sell ready made canvasses for those who want to work in oils at Creative Holidays Spain for those who do not want to be traveling with them on the way out to their holiday.
Do I have to attend all of the painting sessions? No, you are free to take time out if you wish. Most days we do our painting at the hotel in a quiet shaded area, which allows people the opportunity to 'drop in' on the painting sessions when they are ready. We have found that most people prefer this teaching method, rather than rushing from one location to another. To add variety of landscapes we do go out on location for a few painting sessions during the week.
How can I pay for my holiday? There are 2 main options to make payment. We offer you the choice to pay by credit card using our Paypal account(there is no need to have a Paypal account to pay at Paypal anymore). You can also pay through Direct Bank Transfer - this can be done in person at your own bank OR you can process your payment using on-line banking from a UK bank if you have this facility set up. (You will be given full instructions of how to pay once you have made a reservation.)
I am traveling alone. Can I have a room to myself? Most hotels in Spain are twin or double rooms, but you can have a room to yourself with no single room supplement.
I would like to extend my holiday before/after the painting week. Can you help to arrange accommodation? We have worked hard to produce an itinerary which is balanced between relaxed painting and experiencing the beauty of the area. However we recognise that some customers may want to design their own holiday. If you would like to do this simply contact us and tell us what you want to do. We will try our utmost to meet your needs.
