Idyllic riverside hotel accommodation

The accommodation for your painting holiday with Creative Holidays Spain is the El Gecko hotel, located in the pueblo banco in the Guadiaro valley. It is situated right on the river bank with stunning views of the surrounding mountains.

There is NO single room supplement with our accommodation.

Based in a traditional white village common to Andalucia The Gecko Hotel, which is English owned, has a very friendly and informal atmosphere, where the comfort of the guests and good dining are a priority. To the rear the hotel boasts a delightful floral river-bank setting with views along the Rio Guadiaro and superb open views of the mountains beyond.

The hotel offers the opportunity for those who wish to follow the walks and trails through the area, and enjoy the stunning mountain landscapes.

The Facilities

The hotel is tranquil during the day and allows the opportunity for our painting sessions to take place undisturbed.

Several terraces provide access to the riverbank including a seperate shady area with a large orange tree which is set aside for painting activities.

There is a swimming pool with its own terrace and is a favourite with guests in the summer, although the pool is open all year round.

Accommodation

The rooms are decorated in the traditional rustic style utilising natural and locally crafted materials. Each room has an en-suite bathroom, and open views to the mountains.

Dining

The hotel has a comfortable restaurant with a log burning stove ideal for cooler evenings and an outside shaded terrace overlooking the riverbank for those balmy evenings.

We spent a long time searching for the ‘ideal hotel’ to base our painting holidays, to ensure that people would feel relaxed, comfortable and above all be inspired by the environment they were staying in. The hotel offers all the facilities you could need and we feel sure that you will not be disappointed when you come and stay with us.
